Felt sewing patterns are some of the best for creating make and take kits. The project can be simplified or made more difficult based on the ages of your participants. For something like a felt frog, the child will most likely be 10-13 years old. The following is how I would arrange a sewing kit.
You have two options to work with - hand sewing or machine. I prefer machine.
Then you need to decide on how many steps the project should be. Less than 10 steps is good.
I would print this at 200% on cardstock so it is bigger and easier to work with. Right click the image and save as a jpg.
Now that you have a copy you need to cut the shapes out in felt. I use a white crayon to trace. You need 2 Green bodies, 2 green faces, 1 white eye, 2 black eyes, 1 white belly, 2 green arms. Place all the pieces in a zip bag.
I would add to the instructions to use a sharpie marker to draw on the face. Do this first. This will require supervision.
Here are the steps:
1. Remove all pieces of felt and lay them out.
2. Use Sharpies to draw the face onto the frog. Use the photo on the bag for reference.
3. Sew the white eye outline onto the green head.
4. Sew the Green head onto the green body.
5. Sew on the white belly.
6. Hot glue on the hands.
7. Flip over and pin the back of the head and body to the frog. Sew around the edge. When you get to the feet stop.
8. Stuff the frog. Use the back end of a pencil to push in the stuffing.
9. Sew the frog closed.
